Things To Do

Manito Park
Located just South of Downtown on Grand Avenue, this 90 acre park has something for everyone. The unique gardens are delightful; Rose Hill has formal beds with over 1,500 rose bushes; the Lilac Garden and the Duncan Gardens - 3 acres of classical European Renaissance, plus the Japanese Gardens with gold fish ponds and more. There is a Duck Pond, Tennis Courts, an open Play Area and Picnic Facilities.
Centennial Trail
This Trail was conceived to celebrate Washington State’s 100th birthday in 1989. The Trail follows the Spokane River for 37 miles, then threads its way eastward for another 21 miles. You can enjoy Running, Biking, Skating, Walking and Roller Blading while taking in the beautiful surroundings of the river.
Northwest Museum of Arts & Culture
2316 W. First Avenue. Discover the historical exhibits that include the theme areas of the Plateau Indians. The fur trade, early exploration and the growth of Spokane and the Inland Northwest. Enjoy the Fine Arts Gallery featuring regularly changing exhibitions. 456-3931

Located at the Northwest Museum of Arts & Culture, 2316 W. First Avenue. Relive Spokane’s “Age of Elegance” as you tour this National Register Landmark. Tour the 1898 residence designed by renowned Architect Kirtland K. Cutter. 456-3931
Mount Spokane State Park
Five thousand feet above sea level, this state park provides all-season fun for everyone, including: hiking, horseback riding, cross-country and downhill skiing, snowshoeing, snowmobiling and sledding. Camp and enjoy the panoramic view of Canada, Washington, Idaho, Montana, two mountain ranges, and eight lakes. Located only 30 miles from downtown Spokane!
Cat Tales Endangered Species Conservation Park
Located 6 miles from the Division Street “Y” on the Newport Hwy. The tour of the Park will take you within 8 feet of over 2 dozen exotic cats found throughout the world. See the rare Asian Leopards and the largest collection of “Black Panthers” in the Northwest. The park is funded by donations only. Call 238-4126 for hours.
